SS12 FASHION TREND REPORT

Hope it is still not too late to post the trend report for Spring/Summer 2012 now. As you can see some of them are already hit the boutique store! OK! let's cut to the chase and get reading on into what's coming up for this Spring/Summer 2012!

PASTEL PRINCESSES

Pastels are feminine and girly, this season every girl can feel like a princess in a fairytale castle. Think tulle and organza in baby pinks, blues & yellows! Perhaps the strongest trend of the season comes with a softly approach. Sugary shades on sweet pastel pieces are the order of the spring/summer day with everyone from Chanel and Louis Vuitton to 3.1 Phillip Lim, Jonathan Saunders and Alexander McQueen dipping in.

TOP OF THE CROPS

Be it with a '50s style flared skirt, the way to wear your top this season is short, short, short. From rushed bandeaus at Prada to structured longline bras at Nina Ricci, this is the season to get your abs into shape ladies!!

BOLD BOUQUETS

How could any spring/summer season be without florals - that's unnatural! Florals are back again for this season with more combinations than ever. Mixing prints like at Dries Van Noten and Antonio Marras, and clashing color at Mary Katrantzou are the way to get your flower fix this season.

PAISLEY PERFECTION

Paisley is the print to be seen in this Spring, but keep it modern by making a bold statement like J.W Anderson, Stella McCartney and Jil Sander. For an opulent edge add deep jewel colors like Haider Ackermann.

PEP SQUAD

In a celebration of the female silhouette, the hips are where it's at this season. Whether it'll be soft like CĂ©line, Acne and Yves Saint Laurent, or bold statements like Cushnie et Ochs and Jason Wu.

YELLOW (FANG) FEVER

Tangerine tango might be the Pantone color of the year but every shade of yellow is the color of the season. Be it pastel, banana, custard or lemon curd, every collection had a dash of the color.

GATSBY GLAMOUR

Twenties is back in vogue. Gucci lead the charge with its deco flapper dresses with Ralph Lauren and Etro close behind.

PYJAMAS PARTY

Night time staples are taking a chic stroll through the day with pajama style trouser suits hitting the catwalks. Seems kind of wrong but chic offerings from Stella McCartney, Jonathan Saunders and Antonio Marras amongst others.

GET SPORTY

Get a spring in your summer step with the new season's sportswear. Mix electric oranges, bright green and royal blues like at Marc by Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Victoria Beckham.

Global Tribal Traveller

Bottega Veneta was hailed as one of the best collections of the season, but there were plenty of others getting in on the tribal action too, such as Donna Karan, Burberry Prorsum, Etro or even Topshop!!

UNDER WATER LOVE

Mermaid dresses, conch clutches and glittering trails of starfish dotted the runways for Spring/Summer at Givenchy, Chanel and Versace.

SHINE ON GLITTERING

Shiny fabrics and jewel colors are the loud and proud choice for those looking to make statement this summer. Be it green cellophane trousers like Theysken's Theory or shimmying satin at Giorgio Armani, you really can't shine too much.

LACE UP

When it comes to lace this season, think big. Whether it's head-to-toe color or pop lace at Valentino or Miu Miu, or super sized broderie anglaise at Louis Vuitton and Glambattista Valli, spring/summer 2012 lace should be an outfit's main event!

FRESH PRINTS

A fresh new print hit the catwalks this season, so discard of your autumn/winter 2011 spots - grids and checkerboards are on their way in. Marios Schwab, Christian Dior will show you how it's done.

THE AMERICAN DREAM

Be it retro-America at Prada, or cowgirl-chic at Marc Jacobs and Viktor & Rolf. T-shirts emblazoned with the stars and stripes or Miu Miu's prairie girl patchwork, the fashion world are having a dalliance with all things America.

So ladies, get the new season now! with what you've got in your wardrobe..'Cuz these are the trends that count for Spring/Summer 2012.
